words... written and unwritten

I've often realized that i speak much differently than i write. I'm not just talking about sentence structure and grammar. I write in a more romantic tone than i would ever speak. I think when i write, i'm writing as if i'm watching my life through the lens of a camera... as if i were in a movie or something. When i talk, i think about what i'm saying before i say it, judging whether that sounds too silly to say out loud. Usually concluding that it is. This may say something deep about me, but i dont feel like figuring that out right now.

I think most quiet people write much more prolifically than they speak, anyway, but i dont think i'm supposed to be a quiet person.

Jon, how's it going man?!

I'm glad you found Willy in the blogosphere so that I could find you.

I too write much differently than I speak. And, I too have thought that I write as though my words were dialogue in a movie. And when I think that, I think it's pretty cool, so I try to do it consciously. But, it's very possible that everybody else thinks it is a very dumb movie.

that's funny. i think that's how i do it too. Thanks for pinning it down for me. Maybe that's because when you write, you hear the words echoing in your head, and you feel like you're monologuing your life. It's like the "wonder years". Kinda handy that now all of our journals, etc personal feelings are wrapped up in a language that's entertaining for other people to read.
