hi jon! i have finally found you.

you don't know me by any conventional right, but i have been looking for you since i discovered the disappearance of your website.

years ago (probably around 2003), i found your art by accident, and became quite smitten. i still have a few of your 1000 drawings.

my reason for contacting you, though, is to inform you that in 2005 i got one of your line drawings tattooed on my right shoulder blade. i had saved some of your images onto my computer, and when the time came to decide to get the tattoo, i tried to find you again, but failed.

so i guess i just wanted to let you know that somewhere in boston, there is someone walking around with your art on their shoulder.

i, unfortunately, cannot remember the name of the specific piece to better communicate it you. i did have digital pictures, but have since lost them to the black hole that is an inaccessible hard drive. this is the only one i have, be it poor quality. but maybe you can get an idea of which of your drawings it is here:

(hopefully that worked, i can't make a link)

i hope you are not upset by this fact, as i did not get your permission to use the piece. it was traced onto me just as you drew it, save for the fact it was reversed to be on the preferred shoulder.

i get questioned about it a great deal. and i, of course, always credit you.

so that's all, really. i just felt it would be (hopefully) a nice thing to hear from a stranger.

i hope things are going well for you, and i would love to see you continue to pursue more art like that on my shoulder.

best,
cj

Christine,

Wow! thanks for the info. I'm sorry to say i haven't looked at my blogger page in over a year, so i did not see your comment until 2009. I'm flattered that you used my drawing as a tattoo. I'd really love to see that (the link did not work). If you'd like to see some of my more current artwork, you can look up my stuff at Flickr.com
